My last week
Your dreams are not meant to put you to sleep, but to alert and arouse you to your immense possibilities.
I am kind of sad right now, because the year is over, and my last day is tomorrow. I'm trying not to be too sad, because I have exciting opportunities ahead of me- but okay being honest I love it here, and I'm going to miss my bosses, my coworkers, my little niche. But... it is the possibilities I am looking forward that are filling me with a quietly growing excitement.
Whether you are coming to college for the first time after high school, you are changing your career, or whatever your circumstance, coming to SBCC represents a change- but guess what. Change is scary, yes. But change is what provides the place for us to grow. Honestly, before I came to SBCC, I imagined I would have positive consequences, like learning new skills. Did I imagine all of the wonderful things that would envelop. Nope.
It's more than just the classes. It's more than just the professors. It's more than just the ocean view. It's a network of people that have goals and dreams surrounding you in your classes, it's people that believe in you, it's a place to make mistakes and learn and grow. It's a place to explore yourself, your talents, your skills, who you are, and it's a place to connect.

Student Show Video
So on Friday afternoon and this morning, I edited the video for the Student Show. This was an especially fun video to edit, because I had a lot of footage. This also presented me with a challenge. Youtube videos tend be pretty short, so while the positive part was that I had a lot of footage to work with, the challenge was shortening the video. I edited a 15 minute video into 8:59! Yay! Now that the video is edited, I export it and then upload it up to Youtube. The last steps involve describing the video, creating captions, and sharing it. I hope to have it up shortly!

The Home Stretch
Okay guys... I turned in my big film assignment yesterday, and I think it went okay. I cannot believe it is the end of the year! I only have 3 more dance and soccer classes. It has been a busy month, but I have also been getting a lot done. I am excited, because a video I just uploaded yesterday covering the Charter for Compassion was recognized by the non-profit:
I'm really excited for my friend Lauren who put on the event, and I hope it leads to more compassion between students for SBCC, and for their lifetime.

Schoolwork
Okay, so it's Monday... and I have a lot of things I've been up to so I'm super busy! I have two film class projects going on- a group project (Memento) and a personal project, which I'm doing a kind of puppet show of the cartoon Avatar the Last Airbender. My group shot all of our footage for Memento last weekend, as I mentioned, and this weekend I shot the Avatar footage with Kyle, who is my partner in this project. We are working on finishing the shooting, and beginning editing.
In addition, I also just completed an assignment for my leadership class, which was an informational interview with a leader. I chose my boss, who told me about how she delegates responsibilities. She reminded me that ultimately the goal of my internship is to learn, so it was a perfect blend of doing my homework and learning at my internship.
Luckily my graphic design class is sort of winding down as I finish up a long term brochure on Zero Skateboards. I got most of it done last week and emailed my teacher, who gave me suggestions for edits so I could get the best grade possible.
But, it's only a few more weeks of the rush, and so far I believe I have all A's!

My Day
Well, it's almost the end of another beautiful week here, and I just came back from the Board of Trustees Meeting. I got to see my coworker get nominated for an award amongst 5 other employees at SBCC. I went to watch her, and it was great seeing her get recognition for such hard work.
Other than that, I kind of messed up my foot in soccer, but luckily the athletic trainer told me how to stretch it and make it better. I definitely have the urge to be active, but I don't want to mess my foot up more.
Tonight I am heading with my friend Michelle from film class to another friend's event, Out of Print.
The event is being hosted my friend Vanessa, who started the Art Club this semester. The event is a combination of original art and locally grown organic food. Delish.

Shooting this weekend
So this weekend I worked with my film group in the production stage. We are creating a two-minute version of Memento for our film class. The actors were great, and though we were shooting from 10 in the morning until 8pm, it was still a lot of fun! I was the writer, so I wrote the script. Then when we switched from pre-production to production, I became 1st Assistant Director, who basically keeps everything rolling in a timely manner. I also helped to makeup, make fake blood, etc etc. I will post our video when it's all done, but a picture is worth a 1,000 words, so here are some snapshots (taken by our Producer):
