SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW

OMG- you know when you have those days when everything just gels together? I cannot believe how much better my life is now that I am in school than when I was not in school working in retail. OMG. In December Kyle and I are going to Israel with Hillel, and probably spending some time in Spain too (where I studied abroad!!!). In addition, we are looking at moving into a co-op which will provide us with cheaper rent and a way to meet people. Also, Kyle has decided he's going to take some marketing/film/media classes, and I think I will be taking a leadership class with Tina Kistler from the Student's Coalition, and a basic media design class and/or film production class.

My new home

We moved in close to campus, and found some roommates online. We (mostly me) were a little worried about making new friends, if the neighborhood would be nice etc etc, and have found that it is pretty fantastic. Everyone in our apartment complex is incredibly friendly, and I mean incredibly. Because he moved up beforehand, as I was unloading my first box I heard our neighbor from his patio shouting “You’re Kyle’s girlfriend right?”. I have to admit that was really cool, because in San Diego (my hometown) I frequently never met my neighbors.

Another thing I love about the apartment is how close it is to campus. I am about 5 minutes walking from home to work, which is the most convenient commute I have ever had in my life. The campus is gorgeous (believe me, you will be seeing pictures), and perfect for jogging through and down to the beach, or playing Frisbee. There are tons of great places for sitting and going online (they have wifi access pretty much everywhere), chatting or eating some lunch at.

Kyle and his Diving

The Marine Tech Program
My boyfriend, Kyle, scuba diving

I arrived in Santa Barbara City College on Tuesday with my boyfriend Kyle. He is doing the Marine Diving Program, an intensive program that will teach him how to become a commercial diver, fitting his desire for adventure and making money. You can check out their website to find out more information.

Kyle's Light Graffitti
He loves to do photography as well, and I am hoping to either get some shots of him diving, or upload some underwater shots he will take once he gets a housing for his camera (which keeps the camera protected underwater).
