Hey! I had such a great weekend. First of all, Kyle and I moved into our apartment, so it's really nice to have (almost all) of our stuff in one place. I also got my student loan, so that was really cool too. It got directly deposited in my account and was a nice surprise on Sunday evening. Additionally, I had a lot of fun this weekend. I went to an event at Hillel on Friday called Shabbat, which is a dinner that they host there on Fridays. It was really cool meeting up with people from the Israel trip. We played a game after dinner called Sardines, which is like hide and seek. It took us 15 minutes to find the person who hid... because she hid in the boys bathroom (just so you know, everyone there was playing so the bathroom was not being used as a bathroom)! Very tricky! Afterwards I hung out with people from Hillel at Tropicana, or Trop as its nicknamed. Its the dorms for SBCC, and I hadn't seen them before. They're next to UCSB, but apparently there is a bus outside so its only a half hour bus ride to campus. They were actually really nice, with a pool and courtyard etc.
Saturday night I hung out with a girl, Michelle who I met at the hostel where I stayed while Kyle and I were apartment shopping. We watched True Grit. The next night we hung out with her again and some other students from the hostel (apartment hunting too), and went to Zodo's which is a bowling alley. We bowled the whole night for just $12. Anyways, I'm really glad I stayed in Santa Barbara and hung out with people. Last semester I went home a lot, so I'm making myself and stay here and try to meet people. So far, it's going really well.
