I thought I would update you with what is going on in my graphic design class. We were assigned a project two weeks ago to create an ad for a shoe or skateboard company. Our first assignment was to research the company and assemble this information into a design brief. Then, we created thumbnails of our ideas and worked in groups with the teacher circling around. I really liked this technique because it helped me bounce ideas off of other people, and help others do the same. This week my homework was to create a rough, which is a rough draft. It is the basic idea of what I want to do, with room to improve. I will be sharing this in class and getting critiques from students. Here is my design. The picture is my boyfriend's little sister, Kim, skateboarding. I photo-shopped it into the background and added the text and logo. Today I will hear people's opinions so I can improve it- something really hard to get outside of a class.
